Sheffield Wednesday predicted XI, team and injury news vs Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup

Sheffield Wednesday take a timely break from Championship football on Tuesday night.

Danny Rohl takes his Sheffield Wednesday side to Grimsby Town on Tuesday night.

The Owls will look to progress further in the Carabao Cup following their opening round win vs Hull City earlier this month.

And the game against League Two Grimsby Town comes after back-to-back Championship defeats for Rohl’s men.

Sheffield Wednesday lost 2-0 vs Leeds United last Friday, following on from the 4-0 defeat at Sunderland prior.

Sheffield Wednesday team and injury news vs Grimsby Town

Thankfully for Rohl, he doesn’t have too many injuries in his first-team squad right now.

Ben Hamer is injured and so Pierce Charles could start vs Grimsby Town, with no.1 goalkeeper James Beadle on the bench.

Akin Famewo and Nathaniel Chalobah remain injured, but neither have major injuries.

Expect Rohl to make some changes and potentially play around with the formation following a couple of poor league performances.

Rohl sees his side back in league action away vs Millwall this weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday predicted XI vs Grimsby Town

Marvin Johnson could come into the XI in place of Max Lowe, depending on what shape Rohl plays.

There could also be a start for youngster Sean Fusire; Sheffield Wednesday fans were impressed by Fusire against Hull.

Whether or not Lincoln City target Bailey Cadamarteri features remains to be seen, after the striker was left out of the last two matchday squads in the Chamiosnihp.

The same could be said of Callum Paterson, with the Owls open to letting Paterson leave this summer.

Elsewhere, we could see summer signings Olaf Kobacki and Charlie McNeill given run outs, or eve starting spots against Grimsby.
