After such a busy summer of signings, Sheffield Wednesday may now be in need of some player exits.
Few expected Sheffield Wednesday to be so busy during this summer’s transfer window, and to get the bulk of their business done so early.
Danny Rohl already had nine new players in his first-team squad before they jetted out to Austria and Germany for their pre-season tour.
Soon after returning, Sheffield Wednesday completed the signing of Ike Ugbo, and there’s links to several other players who could arrive before the August 30th transfer deadline.
Now though, it seems as though there’s a clear shift towards possible player exits at Hillsborough.
We’ve already seen one make his move away from S6, albeit temporarily in Mallik Wilks’ loan move to Rotherham United, though it seems as though he’ll never play for Sheffield Wednesday again.
Others are tipped to potentially leave on loan too; Bailey Cadamarteri has EFL interest, whilst Crawley have made a loan enquiry for Pierce Charles, who’ve currently no.2 due to the injury to Ben Hamer.

Sheffield Wednesday could offload Callum Paterson this summer
Having spent money on several players this summer, including Yan Valery and Olaf Kobacki, as well as the £3million signing of Ugbo, it looks like owner Dejphon Chansiri is keen to make some money back.
The Owls could now offload some fringe players and one such player is Callum Paterson.
The Scot is a fan favourite at Sheffield Wednesday but he played just 25 times in the Championship last season without scoring, and he’s not yet been named in a matchday squad in the Championship this season.
An emerging report from The Star says that ‘Paterson is believed to be up for grabs alongside a handful of other fringe players’ this month.
Callum Paterson exit would symbolise Sheffield Wednesday transfer acumen
Last season, if Paterson was fit throughout, he may well have played an important role.
And on occasion, especially towards the end of the season, he showcased his versatility and hard-work on the pitch with some strong performances.
For a lot of Championship teams, he’d be a good player. But Sheffield Wednesday have vastly improved their side this summer, especially their attack with Kobacki, Jamal Lowe, and Charlie McNeill joining, and it’s pushed Paterson down the pecking order.
Whilst many fans might not want to see Paterson leave, it’d be symbolic of the club’s progression, and it makes sense given that he’s out of contract next summer.
