The Sheffield Wednesday academy has produced many first-team players through the club’s history. But who are the Owls’ latest group of U21 talents trying to make it to Hillsborough?
A handful of the South Yorkshire natives’ academy alumni are in the Owl’s first-team squad at Hillsboroughnow. Liam Palmer, Cameron Dawson and Ciaran Brennan made the Sheffield Wednesday squad from their academy and also helped them secure promotion in 2022/23.
The Owls’ latest academy talents represent Sheffield Wednesday’sU21s in the Professional Development League. They play under Neil Thompson, who returned to the role in January 2022. He had held the role from 2016 to 2019 before joining the club’s senior coaching staff.
