Darren Moore promoted Pierce Charles to Sheffield Wednesday’s first-team squad from the 2022/23 season. He only signed for the Owls’ academy from Manchester City in July 2021. From there, he’s gone from strength. Many wanted him to play more last season instead of loanee James Beadle, and he was made the Owls’ number one ‘keeper for the 2025/26 campaign.

Ethan Horvath

When Pierce Charles was injured at the start of the season, the Owls were left with no other senior goalkeepers. The EFL let them sign Ethan Horvath despite being under a transfer ban, and the American ‘keeper has served them admirably despite a shaky start.

Bailey Cadamarteri
