Sheffield Wednesday recently completed their 10th signing of the summer; a return for Ike Ugbo.

Sheffield Wednesday have re-signed Ike Ugbo after trying all summer long to bring back the Canadian international.

A deal had, at times, looked too much for the Owls, who’ve reportedly paid £3million for Ugbo on a permanent deal from French club Troyes.

It’s certainly a marquee signing for the club and another one that’ll give owner Dejphon Chansiri some further backing from supporters.

Danny Rohl now has 10 new players to work with ahead of the start of the 2024/25 Championship season, with Sheffield Wednesday vs Plymouth Argyle the first game on Sunday.

The Owls are back at Hillsborough after a very promising summer.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the new season and Sheffield Wednesday have been backed to improve drastically on their 20th place finish in the last campaign.

And the Ugbo signing certainly bolsters that idea. Upon his return to S6, teammate Anthony Musaba and Josh Windass took to Instagram.

Josh Windass and Anthony Musaba messages to Sheffield Wednesday signing Ike Ugbo

Sheffield Wednesday now have a very potent attack, with Ugbo along with Jamal Lowe, Olaf Kobacki, and Charlie McNeill having joined the club this summer.

But Ugbo’s arrival could mean movement elsewhere in the first-team squad, with Wrexham trying to sign Bailey Cadamarteri on a season-long loan.

Last time round, Ugbo scored seven goals in 18 Championship outings for Sheffield Wednesday after joining on loan in January.

Posting on Instagram, attacking teammates Windass and Musaba shared these messages:

Danny Rohl has done one thing to his Sheffield Wednesday attack this summer

Last season, Rohl certainly showcased a very high-pressing and intense Sheffield Wednesday side.

And they got the job done in the end, albeit with a lot of hurdles.

This summer, Sheffield Wednesday have added some much-needed depth to their attack, and experience in Lowe, and it’ll allow Rohl to rotate his attacking options throughout the campaign.

That in turn will keep Sheffield Wednesdays attack very energetic throughout the season.

Then with the likes of Musaba and Gassama having a full season of English football under their belts, they’ll be expected to kick on, and become even more important players for the Owls next season.

Sheffield Wednesday return to Championship action with a home game vs Plymouth Argyle on Sunday, with kick off at 4pm.
