Dejphon Chansiri is starting to win back the trust of Sheffield Wednesday supporters.
Last season was Dejphon Chansiri’s toughest as Sheffield Wednesday.
Tension between himself and the Sheffield Wednesday fans reached all-time highs, culminating in the creating of The 1867 Group.
The 1867 Group staged protests against Chansiri’s ruling of the club, doing so on multiple occasions last season.
But after Danny Rohl guided the Owls to Championship safety, Chansiri has since overseen what might be his most positive summer in his nine years as Hillsborough.
On Thursday, Sheffield Wednesday completed the signing of Ike Ugbo.
It’s claimed that Sheffield Wednesday have paid £3million for Ugbo, who’s been a target for Rohl all summer long.
Ugbo joined the Owls on loan from Troyes in January and went on to score seven goals in 18 Championship outings as Wednesday achieved a 20th place finish.
Whilst the signing of Ugbo is a marquee one, journalist Dom Howson believes there’s still more work for Chansiri to before the August 30th transfer deadline.

Ugbo becomes the Sheffield Wednesday’s 10th signing of the summer, and their most expensive of the summer too.
Ugbo ranks among the top 10 most expensive Sheffield Wednesday signings of the Chansiri era too, with Joost van Aken being the last £3million player in S6.
But Howson believes that Chansiri and the recruitment team at Hillsborough still have plenty of work to do.
It’s been claimed that Sheffield Wednesday are light in central midfield, with many fans believing that another centre-back signing would help to balance out the first-team squad.

The next step is clear for Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday have now spent their fair share of money this summer, with Ugbo, Olaf Kobacki, and Yan Valery all costing transfer fees.
So for Chansiri now, the main focus might be the loan market, with Sheffield Wednesday having only James Beadle on loan right now.
There’s room for loan players to come in and gaps in the squad that need filling, like Howson says.
A new central midfielder and a new centre-back would really give Rohl some depth in what are key positions.
Ideally, Rohl would need a ball-playing centre-back to compliment his style of play, and a general, all-round midfielder just to provide an extra pair of legs in the engine room.
But so far this summer, it’s so good for Chansiri and Sheffield Wednesday.
