Already, Danny Rohl has nine new names at his disposal, with Sheffield Wednesday kicking off their 2024/25 Championship season with a home game vs Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle on Sunday.

Ahead of the game vs Plymouth, there’s been a lot of talk about former loan man Ike Ugbo.
Sheffield Wednesday have been trying to sign Ugbo all summer and now appear to be closing in on a deal for the Canadian international.
It’s reported that Sheffield Wednesday are paying £3million for Ugbo, after fending off interest from Sunderland who were also said to be keen on the 25-year-old.

Ugbo has been on Sheffield Wednesday’s wanted list all summer long.
And now it finally looks as though the Owls are about to get their man, doing so well before the August 30th transfer deadline.
Posting on X, Crann revealed that Sheffield Wednesday ‘hope’ to complete a deal for Ugbo ‘on time for Sunday’.
Though whether that means Ugbo could arrive in time to feature against Plymouth Argyle remains to be seen, if not very unlikely.

With Ugbo now looking poised to return, Sheffield Wednesday fans will be eager to see him back in action, and eager to see him make his debut as a permanent Owls player.
Sheffield Wednesday have five games in August; four of which in the Championship and three of which will be shown live on Sky Sports.
With Championship fixtures coming thick and fast, we could expect to see Ugbo make his debut in the coming weeks, ideally against Sunderland in the Owls’ first Championship away game of the season.
Ugbo will need to time to get up to match speed and time to get up to speed with what Rohl’s been working on in the summer.
And if that varies greatly from what Rohl was doing last season with Ugbo, then it could take the striker slightly longer to get up to speed with the rest of the first-team.
