Sheffield Wednesday have started on their summer player exits.
Sheffield Wednesday have been hard at work in the transfer market this summer, having signed 10 new players.
Danny Rohl’s side look completely revamped following their great escape last time round, with the Owls capping the bulk of their summer business with the £3million signing of Ike Ugbo last week.
Now, it seems as though attention is shifting more towards player exits, with Sheffield Wednesday having quite a large first-team squad.
Young striker Bailey Cadamarteri is expected to head out on loan; previous reports revealed that Wrexham are leading the race to sign Cadamarteri on loan this summer.
More recently, Derby County and Oxford United have been linked with Marvin Johnson, though whether or not he leaves remains to be seen.
Mallik Wilks is another who many have backed to leave Hillsborough this summer, following what’s been a tough year-and-a-half for the forward.
In 31 league appearances for the Owls, Wilks has scored just once, following his move from Hull City during the 2022/23 season.

Wilks has now joined Rotherham United on a season-long loan deal, linking up with the likes of Cameron Dawson and Reece James who both joined the Millers as free agents earlier this summer.
Rotherham under Steve Evans are looking for an immediate return to the Championship after finishing rock-bottom last season.
But the Millers lost their opening League One fixture away vs Exeter City, with neither Dawson or James starting, then beating Crewe Alexandra in the League Cup.

Wilks’ contract with Sheffield Wednesday was never disclosed, though it’s been suggested by numerous sources that he’s out of contract in the summer of 2025.
And even if Wilks goes on to have a great season with Rotherham, a new Sheffield Wednesday deal seems unlikely.
He’s had his chance to impress and he’s failed to take it, with the Championship looking like a level too high for the 25-year-old.
Sheffield Wednesday are moving upwards under Rohl and have brought in a higher calibre of attacking players this summer in names like Ugbo and Jamal Lowe.
And the Owls are already seeing the benefits on the pitch, with two wins from two so far this season.
