There could be one or two departures at Sheffield Wednesday in the next 24 hour or so.
The summer transfer window closes for business at 11pm on August 30th, and there could be some movement at Sheffield Wednesday before then.
Danny Rohl is reportedly keen on bolstering his side with a new defender and a new attacker before the summer window closes, with Premier League loans looking like the likeliest market.
Earlier this week, Sheffield Wednesday signed Shea Charles on loan from Southampton, with the midfielder becoming the Owls’ 11th summer signing so far.
More are expected, whilst there are some reported outgoings at Hillsborough on the cards as well.
On Wednesday, Bailey Cadamarteri completed his loan move to Lincoln City, and he could well be followed out the door by strike partner Michael Smith.
Smith has interest from Wrexham, whilst Callum Paterson is also up for sale.
Paterson, 29, scored his first Sheffield Wednesday goals in over a year during the 5-1 win vs Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Callum Paterson interest at Sheffield Wednesday
Paterson has been a loyal servant for the Owls. He’s also a well-liked player among fans, giving his all when playing for the club, and also being a player who can play in multiple positions.
Out of contract next summer, and with some impressive names breaking through on the flanks, Paterson has been deemed a saleable asset ahead of deadline day.
Now, The Star are reporting that Paterson ‘has attracted interest’ during this summer’s transfer window.
But as things stand, a potential exit for the 17-cap Scotland international doesn’t appear ‘to be forthcoming’.

The balancing act for Sheffield Wednesday and Callum Paterson
For both Paterson and Sheffield Wednesday, whether or not the attacker leaves this summer, or next January, is a bit of a balancing act.
From Paterson’s point of view, he’s settled at Sheffield Wednesday and could still play an important role for the first-team this season, showcasing his qualities in the game against Grimsby.
From the Owls’ perspective, having signed so many new players this summer, and with the likes of Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba needing game time on the flanks, selling Paterson makes sense.
And that’s especially true given the fact that he’s going to become a free agent next summer.
Right now though, it looks as though Paterson is staying, and all he can do is train hard and perform when given the chance.
