Sheffield Wednesday look set to add a 12th signing to their name before the summer transfer window closes.
Sheffield Wednesday completed the signing of Shea Charles on loan from Southampton earlier this week.
It’s Danny Rohl’s 11th summer signing at Hillsborough and ahead of the August 30th deadline, it looks like the Owls are keen to see what final bits they can do in the summer transfer window.
A defensive midfielder has long been on Rohl’s wishlist, and that gaps now been plugged by Charles.
Another priority for the Owls manager is a new striker; Brighton’s Mark O’Mahony was linked but he’s since joined Portsmouth on loan.
Bailey Cadamarteri has completed his loan move to Lincoln City whilst there remains uncertainty over the future of Michael Smith, with Rohl failing to rule out Smith’s potential exit this summer.
Attacking reinforcements in general may be the focus for Sheffield Wednesday going into these final hours of the summer transfer window.
Whatever happens though, it’s been a memorable one for fans, with plenty of names linked.

Scott Wright set for surprise move after Sheffield Wednesday links
One name who was linked with a move to Hillsborough earlier this summer was Rangers’ Scott Wright.
And it looked like the winger was quite close to a move to S6, with reports near the start of July claiming that Wright was set to join Sheffield Wednesday in the next 48 hours.
Of course, a move never materialised. Wright then had links to elsewhere in the Championship, with Derby County and Preston North End among the teams linked.
But Wright is set to join League One Birmingham City in the final days of the window, suggesting that Championship teams had a look at Wright and decided otherwise.
Sheffield Wednesday dodged a bullet not signing Scott Wright
At the time, Wright looked like an exciting link for the Owls, given his experience with Rangers over the past five years.
But for a winger, his goals and assists record doesn’t scream quality; in four-and-a-half seasons at Ibrox, Wright has just seven goals and two assists to his name.
Last season, the 27-year-old was mostly playing as a substitute late in games, or as a rotational player, starting the odd few games but then being absent for another stretch of games.
So for Sheffield Wednesday and indeed the likes of Preston and Derby, Wright may not have been that strong of an addition; especially so for the Owls who’ve already added definite quality to their wide ranks this summer in Olaf Kobacki, Charlie McNeill, and Jamal Lowe.
