One Sheffield Wednesday star is set to return for the game against Swansea City on Tuesday evening.
The Owls lost out 2-0 against a Burnley side hovering around the summit of the Championship.
Whilst not an awful performance from Danny Rohl’s side, Sheffield Wednesday were undone from a major defensive mistake courtesy of Yan Valery, who was alternatively played as part of the back-three.
There were very much issues in particular going forward, as out-of-form Owls striker Ike Ugbo struggled to take a chance to hand his side the lead with a header in the first half, whilst Olaf Kobacki and Djeidi Gassama struggled to provide any direct impact either side of the Canadian international.
Thankfully for Rohl and his side, one key man is set for a return to action in the upcoming home game against Swansea City.
Danny Rohl confirms availability of Josh Windass for Sheffield Wednesday vs Swansea City
Sheffield Wednesday attacker Josh Windass has been absent from the previous two Championship ties, the former of which being the away win at Coventry City before the international break.
However, the Owls are set to have their options boosted with the return of the Englishman as confirmed by Rohl.
The German boss confirmed he is in contention, per The Star, where he said: “It looks good.
“He will train tomorrow and he is available against Swansea. That is my information at the moment.
What is important is that we use the two training sessions, with the fast turnaround it is not so much training, but we make them all ready.
“Then we will put the best 11 on the pitch and we know there is always a bench that can hold the quality and we can increase the intensity. This is good for me to know, it is what we need and it is the challenge this week with Tuesday, Friday games.”

Danny Rohl will be thankful for boost in attacking options
Sheffield Wednesday have quite simply been below par on the attacking front, and there is not a single player up to this early point in the 2024/25 Championship season that have proven to be a real asset for Rohl’s side in regards to goalscoring output.
Whilst the ‘fantastic’ talent has also not been at the peak of his powers on a consistent basis this campaign, he will without a doubt help to reignite the flame in the Wednesday attack.
Windass is Sheffield Wednesday’s joint-top scorer alongside club captain Barry Bannan, who both have found the back of the net twice. Whilst this shows that the English attacker will provide more to his side, it really highlights the lack of scoring from the front, particularly from Ugbo and Jamal Lowe, who have a combined goal tally in the league of one.
