Sheffield Wednesday were left wanting in their 2-0 defeat against Burnley on Saturday, with some poor individual performances.

Sheffield Wednesday lost 2-0 against Burnley at Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon, bringing an end to the Owls’ positive run of three games without defeat.

Danny Rohl now finds his side sitting in 17th place of the Championship table after the opening 10 games of the season.

Whilst the club has made definite strides compared to where they were a year ago, there’s still a lot to be desired.

Sheffield Wednesday fans were critical of Yan Valery following his mistake which lead to the Burnley opener. Ike Ugbo meanwhile is receiving criticism online for what was another mediocre performance, with one clear-cut chance missed.

It was also a tough outing for Olaf Kobacki.

Olaf Kobacki handed 5/10 rating after Sheffield Wednesday defeat vs Burnley

Sheffield Wednesday signed Kobacki from Polish second tier outfit Arka during the summer transfer window.

He’s now featured seven times in the Championship but is yet to score or record an assist.

The 23-year-old has shown some glimpses of a very positive, forward-thinking attacking player so far.

But he looked out of his depth against Burnley. The Star handed him a 5/10 rating, adding: “Worked his socks off and made a couple of decent interventions against the ball.

“Didn’t have bags of joy going forward. Taken off with half an hour to run, perhaps with future battles in mind.”

Kobacki started as one of two wide players behind lone strike Ugbo, with Djeidi Gassama the other.

Olaf Kobacki stats vs Burnley

Kobacki didn’t see too much of the ball against Burnley, recording just seven accurate passes in the game, also completing just one of four attempted dribbles against the Clarets.

But he did manage one shot on target, his only shot of the game, whilst also winning five duels in the game (third-most of any Wednesday player).

Like The Star’s review suggest, it just didn’t fall for Kobacki on Saturday, despite his efforts, with Burnley by far the better and more quality team overall.

Who do Sheffield Wednesday play this week?

Up next for the Owls is another game at Hillsborough, with Swansea City visiting S6 on Tuesday evening.

Then the Owls face a trip down to Fratton Park on Friday night; Sheffield Wednesday fans have sold out the Portsmouth game, even with the game on Sy Sports.
