Sheffield Wednesday fans are reacting to a recent ticket announcement from the club on social media.

Sheffield Wednesday fans are without football this weekend, as the season’s second international break takes place.

But for the Owls, this international break marks a stark improvement to matters compared to the September international break.

Danny Rohl’s side lost 3-0 against Millwall and sat in 20th place of the Championship table for last month’s break, compared to 15th a things stand.

Wednesday have won two of their last three, beating Coventry City 2-1 in their last outing.

Sheffield Wednesday sell out Portsmouth away

Sheffield Wednesday return to action with a game against Burnley at Hillsborough later this month, followed by a midweek game at home to Swansea City, and then a trip down to Portsmouth on Friday the 25th October.

Despite what is a 450-mile round trip, with Wednesday set to travel more than 1,300 miles in October alone. Owls fans have already sold out the game at Fratton Park.

Sheffield Wednesday announced on Tuesday afternoon that all 2,171 allocated tickets sold out during the general sale period, with Owls fans reacting both positively and humorously.

Comments ranged from ‘insane support for a Friday night game that is on Sky’ and ‘madness’, to ‘water is wet’ and ‘imagine my shock’.

One Wednesday fan also commented saying ‘Leeds would never’, whilst a Portsmouth fan also joined in the action, commenting ‘good support that’.

Sheffield Wednesday’s 12th man

All throughout last season, Wednesday were well-supported, even during the days of Xisco Munoz.

The fans played a huge role in getting behind the team and helping them get over the dotted line last season, and they’ll play a huge role again.

Even after the poor start this season, fans continued to show their support, and the fact that so many are making the long-haul trip to Portsmouth, when they could sit at home and watch the game, shows the fans’ dedication.

Rohl and the players will surely be impressed by this latest show of support.
