A former Sheffield Wednesday player who left in 2021 is now on trial with a Championship club.
Sheffield Wednesday are steadily climbing back up the Championship table after their poor start to the season under Danny Rohl.
The Owls have taken seven points from their last three games; beating West Brom, drawing with Bristol City, and then beating Coventry City 2-1 in their last outing.
It leaves Wednesday in 15th place of the table compared to 20th place, where they found themselves after a 3-0 defeat vs Millwall before the last international break.
Where the Owls end up this season remains anyone’s guess. They could get back into a relegation scrap or they could be fighting for a mid-table finish, possibly more.
They’ll have rivals who they’ll need to beat to achieve their goals under Rohl. Now, one of their possible mid-table rivals wants to take a look a very well-remembered former Wednesday player.
Former Sheffield Wednesday man Adam Reach on trial at Swansea City
Adam Reach, now 31, was last with West Brom. But he was released by the Baggies at the end of last season, and remains without a club.
Signed under Carlos Carvalhal from Middlesbrough in 2016, for a reported fee of £5million (making him the club’s most second-expensive signing in history), Reach went on to make 230 total appearances for the Owls scoring 24 and assisting 34.
He was best known for scoring some spectacular goals from range. But he eventually left as a free agent in the summer of 2021, joining West Brom where he made 78 total appearances in three seasons.
Now, BBC Sport Wales report that Reach, along with Cyrus Christie, is on trial with Swansea City during this month’s international break.

Reach’s qualities as a player have developed over the years; to the point where, at West Brom, he could play virtually anywhere.
And that’s what he did. Reach played the role of utility man at West Brom, serving the club well as he filled in wherever needed on the pitch.
His role as a goal-scorer and creator died down somewhat, with just two goals for the Baggies. But he’s proven in the past that he’s a player who can score an array of goals.
And at 31 years old, Reach could still have a lot to offer, and a move to Swansea City could mark the start of an exciting new chapter for the Englishman.
