Sheffield Wednesday look set to offload several names in the coming weeks.
Sheffield Wednesday have the bit between their teeth this summer, both on and off the pitch.
On the pitch, Danny Rohl’s side have won their opening two games of the season, firstly beating Plymouth Argyle 4-0 on the opening day of the campaign before a 2-1 Carabao Cup win vs Hull City on Tuesday.
Off the pitch, Sheffield Wednesday have signed 10 new players and look set to sign several more.
Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Malick Yalcouye on loan from Brighton, whilst Fortuna Sittard midfielder Loreintz Rosier is linked with Sheffield Wednesday too.
There’s also some rumoured outgoings in S6; Wrexham want Bailey Cadamarteri on loan, whilst Mallik Wilks has been linked with Rotherham United.
It’s proving to be a very promising summer at Hillsborough, with the club’s positive off-field changes having significant impacts on the pitch.
And now, before the August 30th transfer deadline, it looks as though one Owls first-team castaway will get his move.
Mallik Wilks to Rotherham United latest after Sheffield Wednesday exile
Since joining from Hull City during the 2022/23 season, Wilks has scored just once in 31 league appearances for the Owls.
Wilks played just 15 times in the league last season. He’s fallen well out of favour under Rohl who’s yet to name Wilks in a matchday squad this season.
Now, journalist Alex Miller says that Wilks is close to sealing a season-long loan move to Rotherham United, where he’ll join the likes of released former Wednesday duo Cameron Dawson and Reece James.

Wilks has proved prolific in League One before, and for Rotherham United, it looks like a useful signing as they push for promotion.
Though for Wednesday, Wilks will go down as a real flop.
He’s shown the occasional glimpse of a decent player. But he simply doesn’t have the quality to compete in the Championship.
Sheffield Wednesday signed Wilks when the club were in League One, failing to show any kind of planning with the signing.
Wednesday were bound to get out of the division at some point, and at which point, Wilks would immediately become a back up player.
Going forward, Sheffield Wednesday need to show a lot more due diligence with their signings, which they appear to have done this summer.
