Sheffield Wednesday have been drawn away at Coventry City in the FA Cup Third Round, with the game taking place on January 11th 2025.
For a second season in a row, Sheffield Wednesday play Coventry City in the FA Cup, and it’ll be sixth time that Danny Rohl has faced them as Owls boss.
Since Rohl was appointed Sheffield Wednesday manager in October 2023, he’s faced Coventry five times and has won just one of them.
Earlier this season, Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to beat Coventry City 2-1 at the CBS Arena, with Shea Charles scoring the late winner.
Since, the Sky Blues have sacked Mark Robins and placed Frank Lampard in charge. For both Rohl and Lampard, the game will be a good chance to test out some new players.
And as ever for the Wednesday boss, it could be a prime opportunity to hand another handful of youngsters their first-team bow.
Here we look at three Sheffield Wednesday academy players who could debut against Coventry City in the FA Cup…

Bruno Fernandes
Portuguese attacker Bruno Fernandes was handed his first professional deal at Sheffield Wednesday during the summer.
He’s garnered some attention from Wednesday fans on social media; for his convenient name and his goal-scoring ability as well.
The 18-year-old came to light among fans back in March when he scored an overhead kick for Sheffield Wednesday’s U21s.
Having been heavily-involved for the youth teams this season, he could be ready to feature against Coventry City in January, with Rohl often having used cup games to debut youngsters.
Junior Kamwa
In November, Sheffield Wednesday handed Junior Kamwa a professional contract, adding the former Bradford City youngster to their U21s ranks.
Kamwa had been on trial at Sheffield Wednesday previously, spending a good few weeks with the club before they decided to hand the 18-year-old winger a deal.
If he impresses in the next few weeks, he could even be handed a fast-track spot into the first-team against Coventry with Rohl likely to use the game as a chance to rest his hard-working first-team wingers.

Devlan Moses
Striker Devlan Moses has been chipping in with the goals for Wednesday’s U21s this season, with fans often seeing clips of the pacy striker scoring for the Owls.
The Northern Ireland U19s striker has been waiting patiently for his chance in the first-team and now at 19 years old, he could be at the right age for Rohl to give him his first taste of first-team football.
Strikers are something that Rohl has struggled with this season. Then with the likes of Michael Smith out of contract next summer, Rohl could be inclined to quickly give someone like Moses an FA Cup appearance next month, with a view to more regular first-team involvement next time round.
