There’s no sign of Sheffield Wednesday slowing down in the summer transfer window, with nine new signings already through the doors.

Sheffield Wednesday announced their ninth summer signing on Saturday, with former Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah joining on a free transfer.

So far this summer, Danny Rohl has welcomed all of Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, Yan Valery, Svante Ingelsson, Jamal Lowe, Olaf Kobacki, James Beadle, Charlie McNeill, and Chalobah to Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday eyeing Rangers man Scott Wright

Sheffield Wednesday have been quite heavily linked with a move for Rangers ace Scott Wright this summer, with some reports even claiming that the Owls have submit a bid for the 26-year-old.

But it’s since been revealed that Wright is on Rangers’ pre-season tour of the Netherlands, suggesting that he’s not as close to an Ibrox exit as fist thought.

Sheffield Wednesday table Ike Ugbo bid

Sheffield Wednesday have been strongly linked with a return for last season’s top scorer Ike Ugbo, who scored seven goals in 18 Championship appearances on loan during the second half of last season.

Recently, it’s been revealed that Sheffield Wednesday have made an opening bid for the Canadian international, who has interest from clubs in the Championship and even in the Premier League.

Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom have both been linked with a free swoop for French centre-back Mickael Nade, who’s recently left St Etienne despite helping them achieve promotion to Ligue 1 last time round.

Since, it’s been revealed that West Brom have met his representatives and that the Baggies are thought to be ahead of Sheffield Wednesday in this particular transfer chase.

Dom Howson predicts Sheffield Wednesday player departures

Shortly after Sheffield Wednesday announced the signing of Chalobah, journalist Dom Howson took to X to share his thoughts on what might be next in S6.

Howson said ‘you’ve got to think there’s going to be a few outgoings in the next couple of weeks’, suggesting that young goalkeeper Pierce Charles could be among those who are loaned out before the start of the 2024/25 Championship season in August.

Rohl’s Sheffield Wednesday kick off their campaign with a visit from Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle on August 11th.
