Sheffield Wednesday are still yet to complete their transfer business after nine arrivals.
Danny Rohl’s side have completely transformed their options ahead of the new season, with nine new players arriving in S6 ahead of the new season.
Championship experience has been prioritised this summer with the likes of Nathaniel Chalobah and Jamal Lowe joining Sheffield Wednesday this season, however Rohl has sought to bring in left-field options including the likes of Svante Ingelsson and Olaf Kobacki, who have joined following impressive spells abroad.
Despite Sheffield Wednesday’s non-stop transfer activity, they are still yet to conclude their deals with a striker very much taking priority ahead of the 2024/25 Championship season.
Ike Ugbo is of the utmost priority to bring to Hillsborough this season, although a deal will be tricky following Championship rivals Sunderland making a move for the Canadian.
With Sheffield Wednesday facing competition to bring their top targets through the door, Rohl has made a plea on what the Owls must improve on when targeting signings.

Danny Rohl believes Sheffield Wednesday must ‘be faster’ in making signings
Sheffield Wednesday boss Rohl made his feelings clear on current pursuits to bring a striker to Hillsborough, with Sory Kaba and Tom Cannon also linked with a move to South Yorkshire, although a deal for the latter is unlikely due to an injury to Jamie Vardy.
Speaking to The Star, Rohl said: “The key point is that next week is the first matchday.
“Of course we can wait, wait, wait until the end of August but maybe we miss opportunities.
“I know sometimes things happen at the end of the transfer window.
“I’m really hoping we find the next piece as soon as possible, but let’s see. We are making decisions together.
“The race is open and if some clubs are also in the race then we have to be quicker, we have to be faster. Hopefully we are.”

From the several significant arrivals at Sheffield Wednesday, to key players committing their future at the club, including Josh Windass, Barry Bannan and Liam Palmer, who was given a testimonial in pre-season against Leganes, the Owls have endured a near-perfect summer.
Rohl’s options across the pitch are more than efficient ahead of the Championship campaign, however uncertainty still looms over who will be leading the line for Sheffield Wednesday this season.
Ugbo is undoubtedly the last piece in the puzzle for Rohl and his plans, and it will be pivotal that the club strike a deal to bring him in, with it certainly topping off a perfect transfer window.
Naivety and unawareness is something that has not existed in Dejphon Chansiri this summer as he has ticked every box on Rohl’s wish list. However, there is so much riding on Sheffield Wednesday acting quickly to seal the transfer of Ugbo.
