So far this summer, Sheffield Wednesday have made three new signings.
Sheffield Wednesday made a blistering start to the summer transfer window under Danny Rohl.
The summer initially started with Rohl signing a new three-year deal before the club, under owner Dejphon Chansiri, got to work in the transfer market.
Chansiri is earning praise among Sheffield Wednesday fans for his newfound ambition and willingness to back the manager.
The Owls’ nine new arrivals are Ben Hamer, James Beadle, Yan Valery, Max Lowe, Svante Ingelsson, Nathaniel Chalobah, Olaf Kobacki, Jamal Lowe, and Charlie McNeill.
But who are Sheffield Wednesday’s best signings of the summer so far, and what can fans expect from them?
3. Jamal Lowe
Jamaican international Jamal Lowe joined Sheffield Wednesday on a free transfer earlier this summer, as first revealed by Sheffield Wednesday News.
He’s someone who the Owls have looked at in the past and someone who had plenty of interest after being released by Bournemouth at the end of last season.
Lowe brings both Championship and promotion experience to Hillsborough; he’s won three EFL promotions in his career with two of them being from the Championship, having also made 189 appearances in the second tier alone, scoring 39.
The quality and experience he brings to the winger positions is crucial and can help the younger likes of Anthony Musaba and Djeidi Gassama to learn and develop.
Wednesday fans can expect to see a versatile attacker who can score and create goals, and bring an overall air of Championship quality to a side that lacks it in places.

2. Yan Valery
Sheffield Wednesday spent money to sign Yan Valery from Angers earlier in the summer, with the Tunisian international uniting with Rohl whom he worked under during Rohl’s time as a coach at Southampton.
He arrives on the back of a strong season with Angers who earned promotion from Ligue 2, with right-back Valery featuring 35 times in the league and grabbing four assists.
Valery bolsters a right-back position that was dominated by Pol Valentin last season.
And both Valentin and Valery share very similar attacking traits, though Valery may be the better-suited player when playing a defensive four with Valery a more recognised defender.
Bringing him in gives Rohl more freedom over the defensive shape, but fans can still expect to see right-back in Valery who loves to get forward and loves to get involved in the attacking side of things.

1. Svante Ingelsson
Svante Ingelsson arrives as a bit of an unknown having only ever played outside of England, last with Rostock in the German second tier.
But there’s a lot of hype about the Swedish central midfielder who Rohl describes as a box-to-box midfielder, whose pace and power can give Sheffield Wednesday a new lease in the middle of the pitch.
Ingelsson looks set to partner Barry Bannan in the midfield and replace the presence of Will Vaulks.
Whilst Ingelsson has shown in pre-season that he’s a tackler, Rohl will also require him to bomb forward and be that physical driving force in the middle of the pitch.
Expect to see a very energetic and hard-working player in Ingelsson next season, and if he can quickly get to grips with the quality of the Championship, then he could easily prove to be Sheffield Wednesday’s most useful summer signing.
