Sheffield Wednesday fans have shared their latest thoughts on controversial owner Dejphon Chansiri, amid an influx of summer signings.
Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri has been a controversial figure for the last several years.
His mismanagement of the club and apparent determination to control many footballing matters had made him a widely disliked figure among Sheffield Wednesday supporters.
The divide between fans and Chansiri hit all-time highs last season following the nightmare tenure of Xisco Munoz and the several bizarre club statements from Chansiri, which were largely aimed at the supporters who didn’t agree with his methods.
The tension grew and a section of fans formed The 1867 Group, which is a protest group aimed at ousting Chansiri from Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday fans all say the same thing about Dejphon Chansiri
Sheffield Wednesday announced their sixth summer signing on Wednesday morning, bringing in attacker Olaf Kobacki from Polish outfit Arka.
Sheffield Wednesday have made the most signings of any Championship team so far this summer and fans are praising Chansiri for the club’s summer; the new contract for Rohl, improvements to the club’s training facilities, and now these new signings.
One fan wrote on X: “Very big DC critic but no one can argue with what he’s done in the last 6 months,” and another added: “For the first time in DC’s reign we seem to be buying players to fit into a style of play and a system.”
Elsewhere, one Sheffield Wednesday fan posted: “Got to say Mr Chansiri deserves credit for backing Danny and the team. Feels different and exciting.”
“I would say that Chansiri is doing absolutely everything right at the moment. Even the social media side of things have improved,” one fan added, whilst another posted: “I finally feel like we are a club with a plan.
“It’s all we ever wanted. To feel the club we all love is heading in the right direction (prices aside) credit where credit is due. Mr Chansiri deserves heaps of praise.”

Is the tide turning for Dejphon Chansiri at Sheffield Wednesday
Being highly sceptical; in Chansiri’s nine-year reign at Sheffield Wednesday, he hasn’t achieved anything.
Yes, Chansiri has spent well in the past and came as close to the Premier League as is possible without actually earning promotion.
But one could argue that Sheffield Wednesday now, or at least before this summer’s transfer window had opened, were further away from their long-term goal than they were when Chansiri took over in 2015.
Like many Sheffield Wednesday fans are pointing out on social media; the Owls’ signings this summer suggest that they’re finally putting together a team that can grow in value and eventually net Sheffield Wednesday some big transfer fees.
That, for teams in the Championship, is absolutely vital to do, and something that Sheffield Wednesday haven’t done nearly enough of in the last few years.
On top of that, Sheffield Wednesday are handing players like Kobacki long-term deals, protecting themselves from situations like the one with Di’Shon Bernard right now; wherein they sign a good player but see his contract run down.
Huge praise must go to Rohl for instilling this newfound philosophy and laying down a blueprint for a more sustainable and exciting future. Then praise must of course go to Chansiri for facilitating it all.
