Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the arrival of Olaf Kobacki on a permanent deal.
It was reported this week that Sheffield Wednesday were closing in on their sixth signing of the summer, with Kobacki arriving from Polish outfit Arka Gdynia.
The Owls beat Norwich City and Derby County to the winger’s signing, with Interia Sport reporting that both clubs having had bids turned down in recent days.
Kobacki is highly-rated in his home country, having bagged 16 goals and seven assists in 37 matches in all competitions last season.
The 22-year-old joins Max Lowe, Ben Hamer, Jamal Lowe, Svante Ingelsson and Yan Valery as Danny Rohl’s first summer arrivals.

It remains unclear how much Wednesday have splashed out to bring Kobacki to Hillsborough, but his agent has now revealed the length of contract he has agreed to.
Writing on X, his agent, Rafal Szcypczyk, said: “From the back office of Ekstraklasa to the back office of the Premier League.
“Olaf Kobacki – in the 23/24 season for Arka Gdynia 16 goals and 7 assists – with a 4-year contract with the club playing in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday.
“Olaf, good luck on the pitches! We would like to thank the Top Goal Agency for their cooperation.”

Having played for Poland U20s in 2022, Kobacki will be hoping that his move to Yorkshire can improve his chances of reaching the senior national team.
The forward arrives as Wednesday’s second attacking signing, making it clear that Rohl is eager to prioritise bringing in goals and creativity.
His permanent four-year contract is also a huge boost for the club, who have so far only signed players permanently.
It makes a change from previous seasons, having brought in nine players on loan last summer.
It certainly gives fans a lot of hope for the future, knowing that they won’t have to keep overhauling their squad at the end of every campaign when loanees return to their parent clubs.
While it is clear what role Kobacki will play in the Championship, it makes a change for Wednesday to give themselves so many options – with further additions likely to come in to provide him some healthy competition.
