Journalist Joe Crann has shared a rather upbeat verdict on Sheffield Wednesday in their pursuit of Ike Ugbo.
Sheffield Wednesday want to re-sign Ike Ugbo from Troyes in this summer’s transfer window.
The Canadian international joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan in January and went on to score seven goals in 18 Championship outings for the Owls.
Without Ugbo’s goals, Sheffield Wednesday would’ve been relegated.
He’s since garnered interest from a number of teams, with a handful of rival Championship clubs thought to be interested in a possible move for the 25-year-old.
It’s been reported that Sheffield Wednesday have seen a bid for Ugbo rejected already this summer.
It’s also claimed that the Owls won’t pay more than £2.5million for Ugbo, who’s recently been given a £4.5million price tag, per reports.
This week, Ugbo’s parent club Troyes have been reinstated to Ligue 2 despite relegation last season, owing to Bordeaux’s demotion following bankruptcy.
Now, journalist Joe Crann has given his verdict on Ugbo and whether or not he arrives at Sheffield Wednesday this summer.

Speaking on Owls Heaven, Crann gave his verdict on the Ugbo situation, first of all playing down this emerging £4.5million price tag claim.
Crann also reiterated the fact that Ugbo wants to return to Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
Crann said: “Ike wants the move. Wednesday want the move… I do think that, what’ll end up happening, is they’ll find something.
“They’ll find a way to make that happen, whether that’s add-ons or whatever it is.
“They’ll get two weeks before the window closes, or three weeks before the window closes, everyone will realise that they’ve got to shift a little bit, and they’ll get it done.”

If Sheffield Wednesday do get a deal for Ugbo over the line this summer, then one thing is guaranteed; it won’t be cheap.
Expect Sheffield Wednesday to have to pay close to, or slightly over the £2.5million mark for Ugbo, with this £4.5million price tag certainly seeming excessive.
And if Sheffield Wednesday do manage a deal for Ugbo then they have to be careful of draining the rest of their transfer budget on one player, with other positions such as central midfield and central defence still needing bodies.
That, and Danny Rohl may want some money left over for Janaury in case of any injuries or any glaring weak spots in the first-team.
So a deal for Ugbo, whilst it would be hugely positive, could have some detrimental knock-on effects if not managed properly.
