Sheffield Wednesday signing Nathaniel Chalobah has opened up on why he decided to join the Owls.
Sheffield Wednesday have now managed to get nine new players through the door at Hillsborough Stadium.
Danny Rohl has successfully brought in Premier League experience in the form of wing-backs Yan Valery and Max Lowe, as well as attacking reinforcements that have a proven track record in the Championship, with the likes of Jamal Lowe joining the club.
Rohl has also delved into the European markets, where he has snatched up deals for Svante Ingelsson and Polish winger Olaf Kobacki, who contributed an assist in Sheffield Wednesday’s first pre-season game of the season.
After transforming this squad over a matter of weeks, Rohl has now added former Chelsea and England international Nathaniel Chalobah to the squad following his release from Championship rivals West Brom.
After signing for Sheffield Wednesday, the midfielder has opened up on the reasons why he decided to join Rohl’s side.

Nathaniel Chalobah opens up on ‘very positive’ talks with Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl
Chalobah is the ninth arrival at Hillsborough this season, and has credited Rohl as the reason he decided to join Sheffield Wednesday.
Talking to Sheffield Wednesday in his first interview on Youtube, Chalobah said: “It was very positive [talks with Rohl]. Very positive about the way he works. About the squad that he’s got.
“About what the ambition of the club is, and without going into too much detail, that was enough for me to make a quick decision.”
Chalobah has arrived at Sheffield Wednesday with an abundance of Premier League and Championship experience, having made 243 appearances across the two divisions.

Danny Rohl, the decisive factor in Sheffield Wednesday’s transfer success
Many of Sheffield Wednesday’s new arrivals at the club have stated that the German manager was the decisive factor in them deciding to join the club, such as Charlie McNeill, who spoke about ‘how he is as a manager’.
Current players that have committed their future to the club, including the likes of Josh Windass, have also mentioned that Rohl was key in them making a decision to stay at Hillsborough.
Rohl can safely be credited with all of the successes that Sheffield Wednesday have had in the transfer window this summer, with players from other clubs recognising the growth of the team, as well as the manager’s ability to get the best out of his squad.
His appearances on ITV’s coverage of Euro 2024 have also helped spread Rohl’s knowledge on the game to a massive audience.
There is no doubt that Sheffield Wednesday will be able to get more significant dealings across the line this summer, with Rohl playing a massive part in that. As long as Rohl continues to approach his signings in a similar manner, the sky’s the limit with the players that can be brought in this summer.
