Sheffield Wednesday fans will once again turn out in numbers to support their team this weekend.
Despite a rather dire start to the 2024/25 season, with three-straight defeats to their name, Sheffield Wednesday fans continue to back their team.
Both home and away, Owls fans turn out in numbers, and are often the 12th man for Danny Rohl’s side.
This weekend, Wednesday are back at Hillsborough; the stadium Chris Waddle says has the best atmosphere in England.
The Owls welcome QPR for what promises to be a tough return to action following the international break.
And it’ll be made more so by the current injury list; Rohl says Di’Shon Bernard, Michael Ihiekwe, and Dominic Iorfa are potential doubts for the game.
Jamal Lowe could also be unavailable after spending time with Jamaica during the international break.
Aside from the return of football, Wednesday fans are pleased to see former Owls goalkeeper David Stockdale take on his first managerial job.
He’s been made permanent manager of Blyth Spartans following a spell as caretaker manager.

Stockdale, 38, lands his first managerial gig with Northern Premier League Premier Division side Blyth Spartans.
The former shot-stopper spent time at Hillsborough during the 2022/23 season, featuring 24 times in League One during Darren Moore‘s tenure.
Reacting to the news on social media, one Sheffield Wednesday fan suggested a ‘road trip’ to Blyth to see their former goalkeeper in the dugout.
To which Stockdale replied:

Like a lot of players who spent a lot of time playing in the Football League, Stockdale takes a huge amount of experience into management.
He’s over 500 career appearances to his name and played his last game just last season, showcasing his eagerness to get into coaching.
Stockdale also has three promotions to his name, so that will serve him well as he looks to get Blyth Spartans up the Football League pyramid.
Rohl is also looking to take his respective side up the pyramid, though right now it’s a struggle.
Still vastly inexperienced as a manager, Rohl needs to trial and error some new ways to get Sheffield Wednesday firing, with this current set up clearly not working.
The international break came at a good time for the German, but another defeat this weekend would really set the alarm bells ringing.
