Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl may soon face an injury crisis.
Sheffield Wednesday stocked up well during the summer transfer window.
In the end, 11 new players arrived at Hillsborough, with the loan signing of Southampton’s Shea Charles being the final summer signing.
But there still seems to be one or two key areas on the pitch where Sheffield Wednesday are light in, and one of those is at centre-back.
Going into the summer, Sheffield Wednesday looked as though they needed at least one centre-back signing.
That was especially true following the departure of Bambo Diaby to Elche during the summer.
But the Owls didn’t sign any, despite deadline day links to Mason Holgate at Everton who eventually joined West Brom on loan.
Now, it seems as though Rohl may soon face an injury crisis at centre-back, with Dominic Iorfa having missed the last two.
And two more could now join Iorfa on the sidelines.

Danny Rohl hints at centre-back crisis at Sheffield Wednesday
Speaking to the press ahead of the Championship clash vs QPR, Rohl gave an injury update on his side.
And to the surprise of many, Rohl revealed that there are now ‘question marks’ over three centre-backs; Iorfa, Di’Shon Bernard, and Michael Ihiekwe.
Rohl said: “We have a few question marks.
“We have a question mark with Dominic Iorfa. We have a question mark with Ihiekwe. We have a question mark with Di’Shon.
“And you can count how many centre-backs are available at the moment. But we try. I am positive. We’ll find a way.
“Nath [Nathaniel Chalobah] is still not available, and that’s it.”

How will Sheffield Wednesday’s defence look vs QPR
Rohl’s options at centre-back are just about down to zero, with the likes of Akin Famewo and Liam Palmer being naturals in other positions, albeit still comfortable at centre-back.
So expect those two names to be in the starting XI this weekend should all of Iorfa, Bernard, and Ihiekwe be unavailable.
It’ll make for a make-shift defence and that’ll worry Rohl, with his defence proving to be leaky this season, even when Rohl names his best options at the back.
Palmer will really need to step up to the plate and show his class should he start against QPR.
Especially so given the fact that QPR have looked quite rampant in attack this season.
QPR all of a sudden seems like an even bigger test for the Owls this weekend.
