Sheffield Wednesday return to Championship action with a home game vs QPR on Saturday afternoon.
Sheffield Wednesday have what feels like an early crunch match coming up in the Championship this weekend.
The Owls welcome QPR to Hillsborough and will look to halt a run of three-straight defeats in the Championship.
Going into this month’s international break, Danny Rohl’s side sit in 20th place of the Championship table; exactly where they finished the last campaign.
But hopes remain high for the season ahead, and the future under Rohl.
Here are five things we noticed in Sheffield Wednesday’s training pictures released on Wednesday…

Mackenzie Maltby training with Sheffield Wednesday first-team
Despite currently being on loan at Scarborough Athletic, Owls academy man Mackenzie Maltby was pictured in first-team training at the Middlewood training ground.
The centre-back recently scored in Scarborough’s draw vs Alfreton Town and was named in the National league North Team of the Week.
Passionate Danny Rohl
Rohl was pictured in training, giving out what looked like some stern instructions or criticisms.
It shows the determination that the Owls boss has to get his side in shape ahead of what promises to be a tough game vs QPR.
Rohl is arguably facing his most difficult spell as Sheffield Wednesday manager, with expectation now on his shoulders following last season’s heroics.

Olaf Kobacki getting stuck in
Sheffield Wednesday fans have been waiting eagerly to see Polish winger Olaf Kobacki get his first start in the Championship.
He’s started both Carabao Cup wins and he’s caught the eye in both, and now after a tough run in the league with the likes of Anthony Musaba failing to impress, it may be time to give Kobacki his run out.
He’s certainly been getting stuck in in training ahead of QPR.
Shea Charles fit and firing for Sheffield Wednesday
Rohl may have had concerns about Shea Charles going into the international break this month.
Charles was on duty with Northern Ireland and started both their games, playing the full 90 in one and 83 minutes in the other.
But he’s been pictured in training ahead of the QPR game, suggesting that he’s not showing any signs of injury or fatigue, which will be great news for Rohl.

Chris Powell keeping the spirit at Sheffield Wednesday
Well-liked coach Chris Powell was pictured in training, laughing and joking with players and keeping the spirit.
It’s clear the impact that he has within the side and during this extremely tough patch of form, having someone as likeable and experienced as him will only be a benefit to he players and team as a whole.
