Sheffield Wednesday return to Championship action vs QPR this weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday received a well-timed and much-needed break from Championship action, for this month’s international break.
It came after a run of three-straight defeats for Danny Rohl’s side who went into the break in 20th place of the Championship table.
Last time out, Sheffield Wednesday lost 3-0 vs Millwall in a game that really highlighted the club’s poor start to the 2024/25 season.
Next up for Wednesday is a game against last season’s fellow strugglers QPR, who currently sit in 12th place of the table after a decent start to the campaign.
The R’s have some familiar faces in their ranks, with QPR having signed Sheffield Wednesday summer target Karamoko Dembele.
The former Brest man was in demand in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday having lodged a bid for the former Celtic wonderkid.
Dembele has shone with QPR since making the move from France and will surely feature this weekend.
But another familiar face is unlikely to.

Former Sheffield Wednesday man Morgan Fox likely to miss out for QPR
Morgan Fox is a name well-remembered by Sheffield Wednesday fans.
The now 31-year-old spent three years with the Owls from 2017 to 2020, racking up 103 appearances with four goals and six assists for the club.
In the summer of 2020, Fox denied a contract offer from Sheffield Wednesday and joined Stoke City where he spent a further three years before joining QPR last summer.
Fox though hasn’t featured this season, and has just 22 appearances for the R’s with numerous injuries having blighted his spell in West London.
Sheffield Wednesday must be wary of one QPR player this weekend
Fox was, on the whole, relatively well-liked at Wednesday, and he’s someone with bags of Championship experience so his ongoing absence is certainly a blow for QPR.
But Rohl needs to be wary of Dembele this weekend; the winger has been in fine form since joining the R’s and he’ll be looking to show the Owls exactly what they missed out on.
Rohl may well build his defence around containing Dembele this weekend, and so we could see either a back-four or a back-five; which one we see really is up in the air right now.
Expect the Owls to return to action well-drilled and determined after this poor start to the season, and expect a feisty encounter at Hillsborough on Saturday.
