Sheffield Wednesday are facing an injury crisis.
Sheffield Wednesday return to action vs QPR this weekend following a two-week break from football for international fixtures.
But speaking to the press on Thursday, Owls boss Danny Rohl revealed that his side are facing something of an injury crisis at centre-back.
Di’Shon Bernard, Dominic Iorfa, and Michael Ihiekwe are ‘question marks’ for the weekend, per Rohl, leaving just Akin Famewo and Liam Palmer as Rohl’s only fully-fit centre-back options.
In the same presser, Rohl also said that Sheffield Wednesday are scouring the free agent market.
And here we look at three centre-backs who are currently free agents, and who the Owls should look at…
Paul Dummett
Welshman Paul Dummett remains a free agent following his Newcastle United release at the end of last season.
The 32-year-old, who can also play at left-back, has 151 Premier League appearances to his name, and also a Championship promotion with Newcastle achieved in 2017.
Last season, Dummett featured just five times in the Premier League, though he was available throughout the campaign, simply being an unused substitute more often than not.

Michael Hector
Former Owls man Michael Hector is still playing for Jamaica despite not having a club.
Teammates with Jamal Lowe and Bernard, Hector played for the Owls on loan from Chelsea during the 2018/19 season, featuring 37 times in the Championship and winning the Player of the Year award at Hillsborough.
The 32-year-old spent the last season-and-a-half with Charlton in League One where he racked up 51 league appearances.
Hector has 177 second tier appearances to his name and one Championship promotion too.
Liam Moore
Former Reading stalwart Liam Moore is another centre-back currently without a club.
Rohl though may view Moore as a definite emergency option, with the 31-year-old last playing for Northampton Town in League One, and featuring just eight times in the league.
But he still boasts a wealth of Championship experience with 284 appearances to his name in the second tier.
Most of which came with Reading whom he also captained for a long time.
