Sheffield Wednesday host QPR in the Championship this weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday welcome QPR to Hillsborough this weekend, where the Owls will look for a return to winning ways.

Danny Rohl’s side currently sit in 20th place of the Championship table following a 3-0 defeat vs Millwall last time out.

Wednesday have lost their last three games now, whereas QPR are unbeaten since the opening day of the season and currently sit in 12th place of the table.

Last season though, Sheffield Wednesday did the double over QPR, winning the game in South Yorkshire 2-1 courtesy of late goals from Bailey Cadamarteri and Anthony Musaba.

Sheffield Wednesday team news ahead of QPR

Speaking to the press on Thursday afternoon, Rohl revealed a potential injury crisis brewing at Sheffield Wednesday.

Rohl warned of a defensive crisis with Di’Shon Bernard, Michael Ihiekwe, and Dominic Iorfa all potential doubts for the game vs QPR; Iorfa has missed the last two with injury.

Rohl meanwhile went on to reveal that National Chalobah is still sidelined, whilst goalkeeper Ben Hamer remains injured.

Yan Valery sustained an injury during the international break but looks to have made a speedy recovery, and is back in contention to feature this weekend.

Rohl now has a huge dilemma on his hands, if the likes of Bernard, Ihiekwe, and Iorfa are all unavailable.

Rohl simply said that all three are ‘question marks’ ahead of the weekend and so which of the three feature, if any, really remains a mystery.

Assuming all three miss out, or at least don’t start, it’ll force Rohl into a centre-back pairing of Liam Palmer and Akin Famewo.

Valery returning is a boost, and it may allow Rohl to play a back-five with Valery in the middle should he want.

But at Hillsborough, expect Rohl to adopt the more attacking 4-2-3-1 shape, with some potential changes in the attack.

Musaba has struggled of late, with the Dutchman lacking the end product, and it could mean a first league start for Olaf Kobacki.

Up front, expect Ike Ugbo to lead the line, with Josh Windass as the no.10 and Jamal Lowe out on the other flank.
