Sheffield Wednesday have re-signed Di’Shon Bernard on a free transfer.
Sheffield Wednesday welcome back Di’Shon Bernard after the former Manchester United man’s contract expired at the end of June.
The 23-year-old was away at Copa America with Jamaica and had interest from elsewhere in the Championship and in Europe, which appeared to delay a potential return to S6 for the centre-back.
And it looked as though Bernard was leaving Hillsborough for good, after he posted a picture of several suitcases on Instagram with the caption ‘Ready for the next chapter’.
Bernard has since revealed that Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl had an influence behind him re-signing, stating that the pair share an ambition to eventually play and manage the Premier League.
Sheffield Wednesday have now signed 10 players this summer (including Bernard) as they gear up for the 2024/25 Championship season in which they’re expected to perform much better than they did last time round.

Sheffield Wednesday are making a habit of not disclosing all of their new player’s contract lengths, likely in a bid to fend off clubs when players are approaching the final months of their deals.
But journalist Joe Crann has revealed that Bernard has signed a three-year deal with Sheffield Wednesday, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.
The likes of Olaf Kobacki has signed a four-year deal with Sheffield Wednesday this summer, suggesting that the Owls and owner Dejphon Chansiri are hoping to avoid repeats of the Bernard situation this summer.

Bernard obviously has faith in Rohl and the direction of the club, to return amid interest from elsewhere.
And signing a three-year contract, after signing a one-year deal last summer, suggests that Bernard has faith in where the club can go in the next year or two.
With Bernard wanting to play in the Premier League, signing a three-year deal may suggest that he thinks Sheffield Wednesday can earn promotion in the next year or two.

Fans are becoming more and more optimistic with every new signing, and it’s certain that Bernard adds another does of quality to the Sheffield Wednesday first-team squad.
