David Prutton has weighed in with his score prediction for the Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley.

Sheffield Wednesday return to Hillsborough on Saturday after a successful away outing before the break.

The Owls headed to Coventry City which promised to be a tough encounter, despite the Sky Blues’ poor start.

And in the final minutes, Shea Charles scored his first goal for the Owls, handing Sheffield Wednesday a 2-1 win at Coventry.

Danny Rohl’s side have taken seven points from their last three games now, leaving them in 15th place of the Championship table as things stand, compared to Burnley in 3rd.

Scott Parker’s side have lost just one league game all season but will be without injured striker Lyle Foster for this weekend’s game in S6.

David Prutton’s score prediction for Sheffield Wednesday vs Burnley

Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder and now Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has given his score prediction for this weekend’s game at Hillsborough.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Championship Predictions podcast, he’s predicted a 2-2 draw between the Owls and the Clarets, whose last meeting was a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough in 2016.

Wednesday and Burnley have never played out a 2-2 draw in all of the 102 games they’ve played against each other, of which Burnley have won 43 and the Owls 39.

David Prutton echoes Sam Parkin’s Sheffield Wednesday vs Burnley prediction

Similarly, EFL pundit Sam Parkin has predicted a 2-2 draw between Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley this weekend.

He said: “I can’t see them [Burnley] losing at Hillsborough. Burnley are picking up points, they’re 3rd in the table, they’ve lost one game.

“There’s a lot of draws, there’s a lot of games that are decided by the odd goal. I’m going to take a draw, I’ll have another 2-2.”

Sheffield Wednesday predicted XI vs Burnley

Speaking to the press on Thursday, Rohl said that defender Di’Shon Bernard has trained for Sheffield Wednesday after his reported injury during the international break.

Michael Ihiekwe could miss out however, whilst Nathaniel Chalobah remains a few weeks away from a return to action, despite having re-joined Sheffield Wednesday first-team training this week.

Rohl faces a defensive dilemma ahead of Burnley, whose attack has scored 14 goals in nine Championship games so far this season, compared to Wednesday’s 11 goals.

Here’s how we think Sheffield Wednesday will line up this weekend…
