Danny Rohl has responded after being questioned over the form of Ike Ugbo.
Sheffield Wednesday lost out 2-0 against Burnley, and they will be hoping to respond next time out against Swansea City.
Whilst the performance was overly positive for Danny Rohl’s side against a top Championship outfit at Hillsborough Stadium, there were still a couple of outlying performances that were sub-par.
Particularly at the back, Sheffield Wednesday looked somewhat solid, however a major mistake by Yan Valery in the build up to the first goal was costly for the Owls.
Further up the field, questions are yet being asked about the attacking qualities of the current Sheffield Wednesday side, with Olaf Kobacki underperforming in the defeat.
After another game without finding the back of the net, Ike Ugbo has also been under the spotlight for recent performances, leading to Rohl having to respond to what is becoming an occurrence in S6 at the moment.

Danny Rohl responds to Ike Ugbo form at Sheffield Wednesday
Ugbo is still yet to find the back of the net and open up his account in the 2024/25 Championship campaign, and there are many concerns that he isn’t showing the capabilities as he did in the back end of the 2023/24 season whilst on loan.
It has led to Rohl having to respond in regards to the attacker’s form and whether anything needs to be done to turn it around.
Per The Star, Rohl said: “We know what he can do and we will keep going on this.
“We know the moment will come and he will score. You know as a striker it is always hard when you don’t score and today he had a big chance – but this is football.
“I think this is our job, we stay together. We win together, we lose together and we improve together. We will come through and the momentum will come back of course.
“I think what we can do is create more and more chances.
“This is what I can do with the players and when we look back since I arrived, we came many times to this topic. If we create more and more chances we will have a better chance to score.
“Today we had a better xG than them but the result is all that is important and the result is 2-0 to Burnley.”

Danny Rohl must take proactive action with out-of-form Ike Ugbo
The Owls have simply not scored enough up until this point of the 2024/25 Championship campaign, and whilst Rohl is keen on emphasising the fact that it is a collective effort for Sheffield Wednesday to find the back of the net, there must simply be more scrutiny coming from the German boss in regards to Ugbo’s form.
Whilst Jamal Lowe has not been in any finer form up until this point, with him scoring just one more Championship goal in the season opener against Plymouth Argyle, it would likely be beneficial for Rohl to switch up his options with him, or even opt for Michael Smith to lead the line.
Whatever action Rohl takes, he needs to take into consideration that Ugbo is simply out-of-form at this point, and giving him several more opportunities to find the back of the net can easily be detrimental for his form and confidence, as well as the points on the board for Sheffield Wednesday.
