Sheffield Wednesday were on the receiving end of yet another disappointing result in the Championship last weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday remain winless in the Championship since their opening day win vs Plymouth Argyle at Hillsborough.
But since the return of Championship football following the September international break, the Owls have been in much better form, having been unlucky not to win any of their last two outings.
Sheffield Wednesday drew 1-1 with QPR in S6, with QPR scoring a controversial late equaliser on the day, then losing 2-1 vs Luton Town over the weekend.
There was yet more refereeing controversy on the day with Di’Shon Bernard sent off for a questionable ‘handball’ decision whilst Danny Rohl’s side had a penalty claim of their own waved away.
Rob Staton has since given his verdict on the Luton Town game and has said that Wednesday’s ongoing poor luck in terms of officiating is ‘unheard of’.

Barry Bannan sends message to Sheffield Wednesday fans after Luton Town
Sheffield Wednesday skipper Barry Bannan has now given his verdict on the defeat at Kenilworth Rod.
The 34-year-old scored a neat volley vs Luton, having now scored in each of his last two appearances for the Owls, who currently sit in 21st place of the Championship table after the opening six games of the season.
Taking to Instagram, Bannan hinted at the controversial refereeing decision that ultimately lead to Wednesday’s defeat on the day, whilst highlighting the strong travelling support from the Sheffield Wednesday fans.

After their heroic last season, Rohl and his Sheffield Wednesday first-team players will be more than confident about turning their current fortunes around.
It may be just a matter of time before things start to click. The last two performances have warranted wins, and if both of those games gave the Owls six points, they’d be well in the top half of the table right now.
Though Wednesday were on the end of some unfortunate decisions. On another day, they might have gone their way. But, like Bannan says, the support remains strong, and the fans will be out in full voice once again this weekend when the Owls host West Brom in the Championship.
The current league leaders will prove to be Wednesday’s toughest assignment of the season so far. But a win here would surely give Wednesday the confidence needed to shoot up the table.
