Sheffield Wednesday were dealt a late hammer-blow over the weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday returned to action with a home clash vs QPR in the Championship.
Last season, the Owls beat QPR twice in the Championship, and were on course for a third-straight win over the R’s on Saturday.
Barry Bannan scored what looked like a late winner, though QPR scored a dramatic late equaliser following a chaotic goalmouth scramble.
Danny Rohl’s side remain winless since their opening day win vs Plymouth Argyle, currently sitting in 20th place of the Championship table.
Despite the disappointing end to last weekend’s game, Sheffield Wednesday were much-improved vs QPR.
Rohl changed to a back-five formation and despite a reported injury crisis in defence before the game, the Owls were overall the better team on the day.
The QPR goal, scored by Alfie Lloyd, has caused controversy on social media; there was a lot going on inside the Sheffield Wednesday box, and BBC pundit Rob Staton believes there was a clear foul on James Beadle.

Rob Staton baffled by QPR goal vs Sheffield Wednesday
Lloyd scored in the 96th minute of the game, despite there being just four minutes of time added on at the end of the second half.
It came after a huge scramble inside the Owls box, during which Staton says a QPR player physically sat on Beadle as the Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper attempted to collect the ball.
Staton said on Football Heaven: “If you watch very, very carefully; James Beadle comes off his line to try and grab hold of the ball and just kill that dead attack right there and then by getting his hands on he football.
“And as he goes down to do it, one of the QPR players sits on him. Literally squats on the Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper and prevents him from moving.
“I’ve never seen that in a game of football before. And what’s most surprising about that, is how often in the modern game do you see goalkeepers come out to try and clear a cross, or something like that… the slightest touch and the referee blows his whistle.”

Sheffield Wednesday pay the price for same old problem
Whether it was a foul or not doesn’t matter now. Sheffield Wednesday drew a game they probably should’ve won, and it’s two points dropped.
Rohl though will be more frustrated about how his side failed to initially clear the ball.
It’s yet another goal conceded from a set-piece; set-pieces has been an issue for Sheffield Wednesday for far too long now, and it’s costing them valuable points.
Sheffield Wednesday recently recruited Ben King who looks set to tackle this set-piece issue going forward.
If King can combat this issue then it’ll save Wednesday a lot of goals and a lot of points.
