Sheffield Wednesday claimed a much-needed, and quite unexpected three points against West Brom on Saturday.
Sheffield Wednesday took an impressive two-goal lead into half-time thanks to goals from Marvin Johnson and Josh Windass.
Danny Rohl’s team kept on pressing and eventually paid the price, with West Brom scoring twice and getting back on level terms with just a few minutes left to play.
But Anthony Musaba popped up with his first goal of the season immediately after, handing Wednesday their first win since the opening day.

Goals have been hard to come by for Sheffield Wednesday since their opening day win vs Plymouth Argyle, having scored just twice since.
But the Owls scored twice in the first half alone against West Brom, who’d conceded just twice in six league games before the game at Hillsborough.
And both of Wednesday’s goals were well-worked and well-taken; Windass’ goal vs West Brom was a good example of how Rohl is showing more variety with his build-up play.
Akin Famewo can play key role for Sheffield Wednesday
Akin Famewo has often been a divisive player among fans, but he’s often been favoured by Rohl.
He’s now featured just three times in the Championship this season. But he arguably gave his best performance of the season vs West Brom, standing up well and helping to make a fearsome attack look rather mild.
Famewo made more defensive actions than any of his teammates (eight, with four clearances, two interceptions, one block and one tackle), whilst also recording more accurate passes than any of his teammates (27).
Danny Rohl just can’t sit back
Rohl has had his critics this season, and this can often be a criticism of his. But more often than not it’s a praise of the German; whenever his side are a goal ahead, they never sit back, but instead chase more.
Attack is the best form of defence in Rohl’s view, and it certainly makes for an entertaining clash, albeit a very nervy one, as the latter part of the West Brom game was.
But it’s a credit to Rohl that he’s so invested in his methods and philosophies and against West Brom – although it almost backfired – it worked to a tee.
