Sheffield Wednesday have players within their ranks that they may look to move on in January.
Despite the Owls getting off to a brilliant start in the Championship where they saw off Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle in a 4-0 victory, things have gone downhill for Danny Rohl’s side in the league.
Sheffield Wednesday have lost three games in a row, and they have not scored a single goal in the proceedings, and now the Owls may have to look towards alternative options for their frontline, with one potentially swap seeing Olaf Kobacki coming in for Anthony Musaba.
Rohl has several options at his disposal, however the German boss is often unlikely to sway from his usual players, leaving some in his side with very little assurance of game time this campaign.
As a result, here are three that could move on in January following the current uncertainty surrounding their future.

Michael Smith
The former Rotherham United striker was a key component in Darren Moore’s 2022/23 side that miraculously returned to the Championship in the most dramatic fashion possible via the play-offs.
Michael Smith finished as top goalscorer for the club in the final league One campaign, however now clearly looks to haver been replaced at this moment in time with strikers such as Ike Ugbo and Jamal Lowe both joining the club permanently.
Smith remains to be an ace up Rohl’s sleeve and an option to bring on from off the bench, however if the striker os looking for guaranteed game time, he may look to move on elsewhere.
Pierce Charles
The Sheffield Wednesday shot-stopper looks set to only be handed game time in the cup competitions once again in the 2024/25 campaign, and whilst this would benefit his development and ability to play at a high level, it certainly won’t maximise his ability.
Pierce Charles is certainly one for the future in Hillsborough, however a loan movie would be massively beneficial at this stage of his career, and this current lack of senior action could certainly be detrimental in terms of what he achieves in his career.

Marvin Johnson
Sheffield Wednesday man Marvin Johnson is a third option who looks likely to depart Hillsborough in January as a result of his lack of action on the pitch for Rohl’s side.
The German boss was responsible for getting Johnson’s career back on track after he was bizarrely left out by Xisco Munoz at the start of the 2023/24 season, however with the recent signings, including the likes of Max Lowe from arch-rivals Sheffield United, there is far from any certainty that the 33-year-old will get much action this summer, and any minutes will come in the form of fairly limited substitute appearances.
