Sheffield Wednesday take on Portsmouth in the Championship on Friday night, as the Owls look to claim their first win since the return of football this month.
The international breaks seem to have a big say on Sheffield Wednesday’s form this season; the September break ended a poor run of form and started a good run, whilst the jury’s out on current form.
Sheffield Wednesday lost 2-0 against Burnley in their first game back, in a game that very few might have realistically expected the Owls to win.
Then on Tuesday night, Sheffield Wednesday drew 0-0 against Swansea City. The game saw some some booing at full-time which Danny Rohl has hit back at, defending his side who currently sit in 18th place of the Championship table.
Portsmouth sit in last place following their promotion from League One last time round. John Mousinho’s side have just one league win to their names so far.

Sheffield Wednesday team and injury news ahead of Portsmouth
The big bit of team news ahead of this one is that Anthony Musaba will return for Sheffield Wednesday after missing the Swansea City clash with a slight knock.
The Dutchman has one goal and two assists in 10 Championship outings this season, but Sheffield Wednesday fans have been critical of Musaba on occasion.
Meanwhile, it looks like Sheffield Wednesday will be without Nathaniel Chalobah for a while longer yet, and possibly Michael Ihiekwe who’s missed the last two with an Achilles injury.

Sheffield Wednesday predicted XI to face Portsmouth
Rohl has been chopping and changing his attacking three this season, with none managing to find form.
Ike Ugbo is woefully out of form. Josh Windass though could return to the XI, and Callum Paterson could make his first start of the season after impressing for Sheffield Wednesday against Swansea City in midweek.
Expect an unchanged defence and midfield. Also expect Musaba to start on the bench having just come back from injury, with the attacking line looking like the one where we’ll see changes on Friday night.
Here’s how we think Sheffield Wednesday will line up against Portsmouth on Friday night…
