Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to end their three game winless streak against QPR.
The Owls are set to welcome Queens Park Rangers to Hillsborough following the conclusion of the first international break of the 2024/25 Championship season.
Danny Rohl will have used the extra time wisely to correct the glaring errors omitted from his side over the last few weeks which as a result has seen them lose three on the bounce and not being able to find the net in the meantime.
Sheffield Wednesday’s abilities shown on the pitch in the season opener against Plymouth Argyle have by no means reflected the true state of the Owls’ side, and Rohl will be looking to use the home clash against QPR to his advantage as he will be willing to get his side back on track.
With a week until kick-off, here is how the Owls could line up against QPR.

Goalkeeper
Young Wednesday keeper Pierce Charles has just come off the back of a brilliant performance for Northern Ireland U21’s, where he got a clean sheet against England, however there is very little that the shot-stopper could do to get in front of James Beadle in the pecking order.
Beadle’s start to the season hasn’t looked brilliant on paper after conceding 10 goals in his last three Championship appearances, and he will be looking for an improved performance against QPR.
Defence
Whilst Sheffield Wednesday have been fairly sloppy and lacking any true character defensively, there were very admittedly forced defensive omissions for Rohl to deal with against Millwall.
Rohl will likely benefit from the return of Dominic Iorfa, who will start alongside Di’Shon Bernard at the heart of the Sheffield Wednesday defence.
Yan Valery has unfortunately sustained an injury during international duty with Tunisia, and whilst it isn’t fully known the extent of the knock and whether it will rule him out for Sheffield Wednesday’s next game, Rohl may choose to play it safe and go for Pol Valentin, who will be joined by Max Lowe to make up the back four.

Midfield
Svante Ingelsson was dropped last time out in place of Southampton loanee Shea Charles, and despite the Swedish midfielder claiming the Player of the Month award for the Owls, he will still likely be behind the new Premier League loan signing in the pecking order.
Club captain Barry Bannan will very likely start his fifth consecutive league game for Sheffield Wednesday.
Attack
Josh Windass was dropped to the bench by Rohl last time out against Millwall, and whilst his substitute performance wasn’t full of promise, he will likely return to the side.
Both Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba will start for Wednesday out wide and hope to provide a threat in either flank, whilst Jamal Lowe will once again lead the line for the Owls.
It will be likely that Ike Ugbo is dropped as a result of the attacking changes following what has been a difficult start to his second stint at Sheffield Wednesday.
Predicted XI: Beadle (GK), M. Lowe, Iorfa, Bernard, Valentin, Bannan, Charles, Musaba, Windass, Gassama, J. Lowe
