Dejphon Chansiri is often under the spotlight at Sheffield Wednesday. Now, after a positive summer transfer window, he’s back under it.
Dejphon Chansiri is often a controversial name; not only among Sheffield Wednesday fans but within the EFL sphere as a whole.
The Owls owner has been very outspoken in the past, has made some woeful managerial calls, and has spent poorly on the whole.
But in the summer transfer window, Chansiri earned praise from Sheffield Wednesday fans for firstly getting Danny Rohl onto a new contract, and then for giving him the signings he wanted.
The positive summer is paying dividends with Sheffield Wednesday currently sat in 13th place of the Championship table following their 2-0 win at Hull City in midweek.
But for Chansiri, there’s lingering concerns about Rohl’s future at the club, with new jobs popping up frequently around the festive period.

Danny Rohl to Leicester City prediction made as Hull City job opens up
Speaking recently, BBC pundit Rob Staton said that Rohl would be a ‘great fit’ for Leicester City after they sacked Steve Cooper, though the Foxes now look set to hire Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Then after Wednesday’s win at the MKM stadium on Tuesday, Hull City sacked Tim Walter following his summer arrival at the club.
And it’s potentially alarming for the Owls because Hull City were linked with Rohl during the summer before they eventually hired Walter.
As Rohl keeps on doing a steady job at Sheffield Wednesday, he’s only going to become more of an attractive option for teams in the Championship or even near the foot of the Premier League table.
So for Chansiri, proving the club’s ambitions in January seems imperative in selling the long-term vision of the club to Rohl.

Danny Rohl may have dropped hint about his Sheffield Wednesday future
Few expected Chansiri to spend £2.5million on the likes of Ike Ugbo in the summer, also spending money on Yan Valery and Olaf Kobacki too.
And even fewer people expected him to spend in January. But next summer feels like more of an important window for the club, in proving to Rohl that the resources are there.
Speaking earlier in the season, Rohl said he has a clear idea of the next two transfer windows at Sheffield Wednesday, and that may well prove to be something of a timeline for Chansiri.
If he can’t prove to Rohl in the next two transfer windows that the club remains ambitious, then Rohl may quickly decide that he can only go so far at Hillsborough.
Rohl seems content for the time being. But Chansiri certainly has his work cut out in keeping Rohl for the long-term, it seems.
