After Sheffield Wednesday’s Steel City Derby defeat on Sunday, five Owls players will now turn their attention to their international duties.

The Owls lost 1-0 to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, with a second-half strike from Tyreese Campbell enough to secure the hosts all three points.

Sheffield Wednesday sit 15th in the Championship table after the loss, with Danny Rohl believing his Owls side should have more points on the board.

Despite Rohl’s disappointment, The Owls were bottom of the table at this stage of last season with only one win to their name, highlighting the marked improvements in the Sheffield Wednesday squad.

As we reach the November international break, five of Rohl’s squad will now leave Middlewood Road and represent their respective nations. Here is all you need to know about who is included and their fixtures.

Gabriel Otegbayo – Republic of Ireland Under-21s

Gabriel Otegbayo made his Championship debut for the Owls against Norwich last Wednesday and has been rewarded with an international call-up.

The 20-year-old defender has become a member of the first-team squad recently after signing on an initial trial earlier this season.

Rohl will be keeping an eye on his young prospect, who faces back to back fixtures against Sweden in the international break.

James Beadle

On loan goalkeeper James Beadle made his England Under 21s debut in September against Austria, with news from the senior England camp potentially working in Beadle’s favour in this international break.

With regular Under 21s number one James Trafford called up to cover in the senior team, Beadle may have an opportunity to stake his claim for more regular appearances in the youth set up in two high-profile friendlies.

Pierce Charles

Fellow shot-stopper Pierce Charles will be on international duty during the break, reporting to the Northern Ireland senior squad.

Charles impressed the Northern Irish media when he made his debut in October and will look to build on that experience with two Nations League fixtures in the upcoming break.

Shea Charles

Shea Charles will join his brother, Pierce, on Northern Irish duty for the two Nations League fixtures in November.

Rohl was delighted with the loan signing of Charles from Southampton, who has become a crucial cog in the Owls midfield. He will be looking to continue his impressive form at Hillsborough onto the international stage.

Di’Shon Bernard

Di’Shon Bernard has arguably the most important international trip of all of his Owls teammates, with two crucial CONCACAF Nations League matches for Jamaica.

Bernard committed to a new Sheffield Wednesday contract in the summer and has featured in all but one match in the Championship this season.

His attentions now turn to Jamaica, though, with a two-legged Nations League Quarter Final clash with the United States ahead of him in the break.
