Sheffield Wednesday are making a nice habit of coming from behind in games, doing so in their last outing against Derby County.
The game at Pride Park was another where Sheffield Wednesday were poor in the first half, but impressive in the second.
That first 45 was as bad as we’ve seen the Owls all season. But their second half display summed up all that is great about Wednesday under Danny Rohl.
Barry Bannan silenced the Derby County fans with a stunning goal from range before Jamal Lowe scored a late winner.
Following the win, Wednesday now sit in 12th place of the Championship table and are just five points from the top six.
The three points makes history, too, with it being Sheffield Wednesday’s first win at Pride Park since 2006.
And it’s a win that placed Sheffield Wednesday top of the Championship in one incredible statistic.

Sheffield Wednesday 1st in the Championship for points gained from losing positions
The win at Derby isn’t the first time this season that the Owls have gone a goal behind and eventually won 2-1.
It’s happened on three occasions already, and all of them were away from home: Coventry City, Portsmouth, and now Derby County.
Sheffield Wednesday’s win at Derby County now means that the Owls have taken 10 points from losing positions in the Championship this season, which is more than any other team.
| TEAM | DEFICITS | WINS | DRAWS | LOSSES | POINTS |
| Owls | 11 | 3 | 1 | 7 | 10 |
| Bristol City | 10 | 2 | 3 | 5 | 9 |
| Hull City | 13 | 2 | 2 | 9 | 8 |
| QPR | 13 | 1 | 5 | 7 | 8 |
| Watford | 9 | 2 | 1 | 6 | 7 |

Where do Sheffield Wednesday rank in the Championship away form table?
The Owls certainly seem to be finding form on the road right now, with four wins in their last five away games.
And their win at Derby County leaves them in 7th place of the Championship away form table having taken 13 points from a possible 27 so far.
That’s only three less than Burnley who boast the best away record in the league so far this season.
Meanwhile, the Owls sit in 18th place of the home form table having taken just 12 points from a possible 27 at Hillsborough this season.
That seems like a key area for Rohl’s side to improve on and they can start against Preston North End on Saturday lunchtime.
The Owls welcome Paul Heckingbottom’s side for a 12:30pm kick off, with a win able to lift Wednesday right into play-off contention.
