Sheffield Wednesday head to Pride Park to take on Derby County this weekend. But it’s not a happy stomping ground for the Owls.

Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County play in a 3pm kick off on Sunday, in another Owls fixture that’s live on Sky Sports.

As things stand, Danny Rohl’s side sit in 13th place of the Championship table after Sheffield Wednesday beat Hull City 2-0 in midweek.

The Rams, managed by former Rotherham United boss Paul Warne, sit in 15th place and are two points behind the Owls.

For Rohl, it’s another new club and new stadium as Owls boss. And he could end an 18-year wait for a Sheffield Wednesday win at Pride Park.

The last time Wednesday beat Derby away from home was on the final day of the 2005/06 Championship season.

And here’s who started the game that day…

One-time Wednesday centre-back Drissa Diallo retired in 2010 after a spell with Cheltenham Town.

Graham Coughlan

Hardened centre-back Graham Coughlan is now manager of National League Boston United, who’ve just signed Owls gem Sam Reed on loan.

Sean McAllister

Midfielder Sean McAllister got his break at Sheffield Wednesday, later playing for the likes of Shrewsbury Town and Scunthorpe United.

Jon-Paul McGovern

Jon-Paul McGovern had a decent spell at Hillsborough, scoring eight goals in 61 total appearances. He retired in 2019 with Elgin City.
