A Sheffield Wednesday player features in the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month nominations for September.
Sheffield Wednesday enjoyed a steady September, albeit playing just tree games in the Championship and one in the Carabao Cup.
Danny Rohl’s side started the month with a 1-1 draw against QPR at Hillsborough; a game they arguably should’ve won but for a late and controversial QPR equaliser.
The Owls then lost at Luton Town in equally controversial circumstances, ending the month with a much-needed 3-2 win against West Brom.
Then after a draw with Bristol City and a win at Coventry City, Wednesday now find themselves in 15th place of the Championship table for this month’s international break.
Rohl’s men played a friendly against Aston Villa on Wednesday. It was a behind-closed-doors game which the Owls lost 2-1, with Olaf Kobacki on the score-sheet.
Since, the Sky Bet Championship player and manager nominations for September have been revealed.

Barry Bannan nominated for Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month
Sheffield Wednesday skipper Barry Bannan is among the players nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for September.
Earlier this season, Sheffield Wednesday fans were critical of Bannan after some apparently poor performances.
But he’s bounced back, scoring twice and grabbing one assist in September; the 34-year-old scored with well-taken goals against QPR and Luton Town.
Also nominated are Blackburn Rovers’ Danny Batth, West Brom’s Alex Mowatt, and Norwich City’s Borja Sainz.

Barry Bannan must keep up scoring form at Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday are lacking goal threats right now, with the likes of Ike Ugbo failing to find scoring form.
So Rohl needs players scoring across the pitch. And in September, Bannan proved he can do that.
Bannan’s been able to get forward more often since the addition of Shea Charles in defensive midfield.
The Southampton loan man has been a really strong addition to the first-team and he’s allowing Bannan to get back on the score-sheet, which is something he’s not done enough in recent seasons.
Now, Bannan needs to find a balance, and keep on getting forward without over-exposing the midfield and defenders behind him.
Sheffield Wednesday return to action at home to Burnley later this moth, before a midweek game against Swansea City and then a long-haul trip down to Portsmouth on a Friday night.
