Sheffield Wednesday suffered another disappointing defeat on Friday night.
Sheffield Wednesday welcomed Yorkshire rivals Leeds United to Hillsborough on Friday night.
Danny Rohl demanded a reaction from his players following the 4-0 defeat vs Sunderland last weekend.
And whilst we saw improvements, the Owls were still disappointing on the night.
Wednesday’s defence was cut open too easily, with the likes of Yan Valery coming under criticism once again, along with Dominic Iorfa and several other individuals.
There’s a lot of negativity on social media after two poor performances.
Sheffield Wednesday started bright with a 4-0 win vs Plymouth Argyle on the opening day of the 2024/25 season, but teams appear to have sussed out Rohl’s style of play.
Rohl lacks a Plan B at Sheffield Wednesday. But despite that, Sky Sports pundit and former Owl striker Clinton Morrison still has high hopes for the Owls in the Championship this season.

Sheffield Wednesday were dark horses going into this new campaign.
Th Owls have so far signed 10 new players and look set for more, with Sheffield Wednesday set to sign Shea Charles on loan from Southampton.
Then after the win vs Plymouth, it looked as though the summer hype around Rohl and his side was justified.
Since, two defeats has dampened the mood, and reminded everyone that the Championship is an extremely tough league.
Morrison though still thinks that Sheffield Wednesday can achieve a top six finish this season.
He said on Sky Sports after the defeat vs Leeds United: “I was asked at the start of the season, outside chance, who can sneak into that top six, I did say my old team Sheffield Wednesday, and I have to stick by it.
“I will keep on saying this. It’s going to be difficult, but I think they have got a brilliant manager there, they have got brilliant fans, they just need to tweak a few things.”

Aside from Rohl needing a back-up plan, and to be slightly more adaptable and flexible in the Championship, there’s more specific issues that need fixing.
Against Leeds, it looked like Sheffield Wednesday’s high defensive line caused a few issues; specifically for Dan James’ goal with Max Lowe being massively outpaced by the Leeds winger.
That, and Sheffield Wednesday are lacking a defensive midfielder who can offer some assurance to the defence.
But if Rohl can fine-tune his side, possibly with one or two more signings this summer, then they could get back on track, and vastly improve on their 20th place finish from last season.
