Sheffield Wednesday welcomed Leeds United to Elland Road on Friday night.
Sheffield Wednesday returned to Hillsborough in the wake of their 4-0 defeat vs Sunderland last weekend.
Danny Rohl was looking for a response from his side, and the Owls started brightly against a Leeds United side who’d drawn their opening two games of the 2024/25 season.
But it was the visitors who stuck first, with Brenden Aaronson scoring a first half goal and dampening Wednesday spirits once again.
The second half was another frustrating half of football for the Owls, who once again conceded shortly after the restart.
Rohl’s men offered little in the way of attack in the second half as Leeds eased to a comfortable win.

Jamal Lowe struggles to get involved for Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds United
Jamal Lowe didn’t necessarily have a poor game vs Leeds United, nor did he do a whole lot wrong.
Lowe simply struggled to get in the game. He was isolated up front before his withdrawal in the second half.
The experienced Championship striker looked sharp in his first game for the Owls, the 4-0 win vs Plymouth, but has struggled since.
He’s surely viewed as a stop-gap for Rohl until Ike Ugbo makes a full return to fitness.
But going off the Leeds performance, if the wingers can’t make anything happen, then Ugbo will have the same struggles in attack.
Anthony Musaba frustrates Sheffield Wednesday fans
In the first half, Anthony Musaba was the live-wire for Sheffield Wednesday.
He had the beating of Jayden Bogle at right-back for Leeds United. But Musaba just had no end product on the night.
The Dutchman completed more dribbles than anyone on the pitch vs Leeds (five), but failed to complete any of his three crosses.
He was very quiet in the second half. But Rohl will know that in Musaba, he has a game-changer, and if he can work on that final pass or that final shot, then Musaba could become a really top quality player.

Josh Windass goes missing in Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds United
Josh Windass was blasted for his performance against Sunderland, arguably being at fault for two or even three of their goals on the day.
He needed a big performance against Leeds, but the attacker did nothing of note on the night.
Windass had just 28 touches of the ball, completing 10 out of 15 passes before being substituted midway through the second half.
Windass was influential towards the back-end of last season with his goals helping to get Wednesday above the dotted line.
He was playing as the lone striker then but has been playing as the no.10 this season, and on the right against Leeds.
Rohl may need to re-think Windass’ role in the side.
