Sheffield Wednesday have been in a number of transfer headlines so far this month.
Sheffield Wednesday look like a team who mean business.
Danny Rohl and Head of Recruitment Kevin Beadell appear to be working closely on a number of potential new signings, as the Owls vie for Championship safety this season.
James Beadle was the first to arrive this month, though it looks like Wednesday could land a few more signings before February 1st; both permanent and temporary ones.
Here we round up all the latest Sheffield Wednesday transfer news…
Ike Ugbo signs
Sheffield Wednesday got their second January signing over the line yesterday, bringing in striker Ike Ugbo on loan from Troyes.
The 25-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at Cardiff City where he scored four goals in 20 Championship outings for the Bluebirds.
Troyes, upon announcing the loan exit of Ugbo, revealed that there’s no option to buy.
Jeff Hendrick facing loan recall
John Buckley recently saw his Sheffield Wednesday loan spell come to a premature end, after the Blackburn Rovers man failed to make an impression in 13 league outings for the Owls.
And it’s since been revealed that Jeff Hendrick could be the next to see his Wednesday loan spell come to an end.
The Star say that Sheffield Wednesday are in discussions to end Hendrick’s loan spell at Hillsborough; he’s featured just 10 times in the Championship so far this season.
Conor Coventry blow

Sheffield Wednesday have been closely linked with West Ham midfielder Conor Coventry this month, but he since signed for League One Charlton Athletic.
Journalist Richard Cawley revealed last night that the 23-year-old was set to be announced as a Charlton player today; the Addicks have today signed Coventry on a three-and-a-half year deal.
With Tyreeq Bakinson and Buckley having already left this month, and Hendrick looking set to leave, expect Wednesday to now target some new central midfielders.
George Byers latest
Earlier in the month, it was claimed that George Byers could be on the move this month.
It was said that Byers could be offloaded should Coventry arrive at Hillsborough; but since then, Coventry’s move to Wednesday has fallen through, and it’s been revealed that the Owls have no interest in selling the 27-year-old Byers this month.
He’s featured 22 times in the Championship this season but has been left out of Sheffield Wednesday’s last two fixtures.
The Owls return to league duties with a trip to 3rd place Southampton this weekend.
