Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly held talks with a Scottish Premiership player’s agents.
Sheffield Wednesday are looking to add to their nine summer signings so far this summer.
So far, Danny Rohl has welcomed all of James Beadle, Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, Yan Valery, Svante Ingelsson, Nathaniel Chalobah, Olaf Kobacki, Jamal Lowe, and Charlie McNeill to Hillsborough.
That’s as well as securing new deals for he likes of Josh Windass and Di’Shon Bernard in more recent weeks, adding further positivity to what’s been a very impressive summer transfer window for the Owls so far.
Yet there’s more expected to arrive in S6 before the start of the 2024/25 Championship season in August.
Sheffield Wednesday have seen a bid knocked back for Ike Ugbo, whilst the Owls have lodged a bid for Karamoko Dembele at Brest.
Another name linked is Scott Wright at Rangers; the former Scotland U21 international is tipped to leave Ibrox during this summer’s transfer window.
Scott Wright to Sheffield Wednesday latest amid Rangers exit rumours
Earlier this summer, 26-year-old Wright was linked with Sheffield Wednesday, with reports even suggesting that a deal was close.
Wright was then spotted with the Rangers’ first-team in the Netherlands for their pre-season tour, casting doubt over an imminent move to the Steel City.
Now, an emerging report from TEAMtalk says that Wright has ‘serious interest’ from the Championship and that he’s ‘likely to leave in the coming weeks’.
The same report adds that Sheffield Wednesday ‘have held provisional talks with Wright’s agents but are yet to make an official bid’.

Where would Scott Wright fit in at Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday have really bolstered their attacking third this summer, and Rohl now has a good selection of wingers.
As things stand, Antony Musaba, Djeidi Gassama, Kobacki, and Lowe are Rohl’s options on the flanks, along with the likes of Callum Paterson who can fill in in that area.
So one more out and out winger may be necessary to ensure Rohl has enough depth in that position, especially with Sheffield Wednesday set to play a very intense and high speed style next season.
Wright would add definite first-team experience to the team with 211 first-team appearances in his career, having played in the Europa League too.
Wright though has never played in England and so there’d be concerns over whether or not he could make the switch, and also be comfortable playing in a Rohl-style team.
But it’s an exciting link nonetheless and with Sheffield Wednesday looking strong ahead of the new season, Wright may be attracted by the project in S6.
