An image of Duncan McGuire having landed in the UK has emerged as Sheffield Wednesday continue their battle to sign the striker.
Orlando City striker Duncan McGuire still looks set for a move to England, but it remains to be seen where he will end up.
The 15-goal star had been the subject of interest from the likes of Anderlecht and Bologna before Sheffield Wednesday submitted a bid over the weekend.
The Owls have since followed it up with another three offers and have even received seven figures, however McGuire looked highly likely to link up with Blackburn Rovers in a £2.3m deal this week.
McGuire flew into England to complete a deal, but the move has since collapsed and Sheffield Wednesday have now gone back in for the attacker.
There is no doubt that The Owls are eager to win the race for McGuire, but his future remains unclear and it appears that he is just as clueless.
Journalist Chris Wheatley has now posted a photo of McGuire waiting in what appears to be a hotel reception, with plenty of talks going on in the background to confirm his next destination.
Wheatley wrote: “Exclusive photo of Duncan McGuire who landed in the UK this morning ahead of a potential #DeadlineDay move.
“Sheffield Wednesday still want to sign McGuire, as do three other clubs. They are waiting for a response from Orlando City.”
What happens if Sheffield Wednesday don’t sign McGuire?
It is unclear who the other two clubs are, but it has definitely seemed like a battle between Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers for the signing of Duncan McGuire this week.
It feels like The Owls really need to go full pelt at signing the American now, as their chances of signing another quality striker at this point seem quite slim.
Whether they have a back-up option remains to be seen, though they could potentially remain with their current crop if neither Michael Smith or Lee Gregory leave the club.
