Sheffield Wednesday host Leganes in Liam Palmer’s testimonial match on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday play in their final pre-season game on Saturday, welcoming Spanish outfit Leganes.

Leganes won promotion to La Liga last time round and also play their final pre-season game before kicking off their 2024/25 campaign with game against Osasuna in two week’s time.

Danny Rohl‘s Sheffield Wednesday welcome Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle to Hillsborough next weekend, when they kick off their 2024/25 Championship season.

So far this summer, the Owls have been to Austria and Germany for part of their pre-season plans, having signed nine new players.

Sheffield Wednesday team and injury news vs Leganes in Liam Palmer testimonial

Sheffield Wednesday appear to have a mostly clean bill of health right now, barring the injury concern to Bem Hamer.

The Owls’ first summer signing has picked up a knock in pre-season but the severity of his injury remains unclear.

Following the 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen in July, journalist Joe Crann tipped Sheffield Wednesday to play the XI that finished that game.

Sheffield Wednesday predicted XI to face Leganes

Against Bremen, Rohl fielded two XI in what was a game of four 30-minute quarters.

But it appears as though Rohl is set on playing a 4-2-3-1 formation going into the new season.

He chopped and changed between a back-four and back-five last time round and looks set to do the same next season, though right now it appears as though Rohl favours the back-four set up.

The attacking line seems to be the most hard to predict as thins stand, given the influx of new players in names like Jamal Lowe, Olaf Kobacki, and Charlie McNeill.

There’s also the likes of Anthony Musaba and Djeidi Gassama who shone against Bremen, so they’ll be in the fore of Rohl’s thinking ahead of the Leganes clash.

Here’s how Sheffield Wednesday could line up in Palmer’s testimonial match…
