Sheffield Wednesday stunned Derby County on Sunday, coming from a goal behind to win 2-1 in dramatic late circumstances.

Danny Rohl took his side to Pride Park on Sunday as Sheffield Wednesday searched for their first win at Derby County since 2006.

But the Owls were sloppy in the first half. Derby though were rampant, and got a deserved goal after nine minutes, with Ebou Adams scoring for the Rams.

Rohl made two changes at half-time and Wednesday were noticeably better in the second half, eventually equalising through a stunning strike from Barry Bannan.

And it was the Owls who snatched a late winner through Jamal Lowe, who scores his second Championship goal of the season.

Sheffield Wednesday player ratings vs Derby County

James Beadle – 7/10

Tidy enough in possession. One really good save in the second half. Dependable as ever.

Marvin Johnson – 6/10

Some nice work in attack, but a lot of Derby’s attack in the first half got past him. Better in the second half at least, had some neat touches. Shifted about during multiple formation changes.

Max Lowe – 6.5/10

Arguably Wednesday’s best defensive player on the day. Calm and tidy on the ball whilst others around him proved poor.

Dominic Iorfa – 4.5/10

Some sloppy passing. Couldn’t provide the same commanding performance that Di’Shon Bernard would have. Hooked at the break.

Yan Valery – 5/10

Poor in possession. Looked leggy at times in a poor first half for the summer signing. Didn’t really improve in the second half either.

Pol Valentin – 6/10

Lively and forward-thinking as ever, if lacking any end product. Brought off at half-time.

Barry Bannan – 6.5/10

A poo first half by his standards. Losing possession down that left side and picking up a needless booking. Made up for it in the second half with a much better showing, grabbing the all important equaliser.

Shea Charles – 6/10

Derby’s physical midfield left Shea Charles struggling to get into it in the first half. Looked as though he was placed at centre-back in the second half. Wednesday proved more solid.

Anthony Musaba – 5.5/10

Some good moments in attack. Still a shadow of the player he was last season, but some signs against Derby that he’s steadily getting back on track.

Djeidi Gassama – 6/10

Did his best to make things happen. Had a couple of nice runs but ultimately didn’t make very much happen.

Michael Smith – 5.5/10

A decent outlet at times for Wednesday. Oftentimes looked very isolated, though. Worked hard throughout.

Liam Palmer – 6/10

Brought some calm to the Wednesday display when he came on at the break. Didn’t see a whole lot of the ball other than keeping play ticking over in the middle.

Josh Windass – 6/10

Got involved straight away. Some careless moments but contributed to the build up of Bannan’s goal. Wednesday much better when he’s on the pitch.

Jamal Lowe – 6.5/10

A bit of talk about the striker’s situation ahead of this game. He some sights of goal after coming on and worked hard defensively. Clinical when it mattered most.

Nathaniel Chalobah – 6/10

Came on for his league debut after struggles with injury. Clearly has a bit of class. Let’s hope he can crack on now.

Callum Paterson – 6/10

Strong when he came on. Great assist for Lowe’s goal.
